Mission

Roots of Return is a genealogical research initiative dedicated to restoring the lost lineage of African American families and diasporic communities.  I use historical records, oral histories, and DNA analysis (when available) to help descendants reclaim the name, pace, place, and spirits of those once rendered invisible.  Through this sacred work, I honor memory, foster healing, and reconnect the living with wisdom of those who came before.

Core Values

  • Reclamation: We believe that naming is power.  To remember is to return.
  • Healing: Our work helps mend generational would caused by displacement, slavery, and silence
  • Truth-telling: We honor every ancestor's story, no matter how hidden, erased, or painful.
  • Spiritual Grounding: Lineage is sacred.  We approach it with reverence, compassion, and humility.
  • Cultural Responsibility: We center the voices of Black families and descendants in all we do.
